The Bose AV-38 5.1 Media Center System with U-Music is identical to the AV-18 system previously shown but in addition to all of the Bose AV-18 features, the AV-38 will store and organize up to 200 hours of digital music. A new house can be a great place to install a home theater, but sometimes the room layout isn’t optimized for surround sound. When the video screen is in the corner of the room or wall space is scarce, it makes it hard for ordinary speakers to track across the room. Enter Proficient’s LCR Series ceiling speakers. With this new design you can get audio imaging that would be lost with regular, down-firing ceiling speakers. The woofer is set at a 15o angle so the critical high and mid-range frequencies are pointed toward the listener, not the floor. The pivoting tweeter allows you to further direct the sound. Designed for medium to large rooms where higher output is required, this elegant compact NHT speaker integrates subtly into any room, either as a freestanding speaker or in cabinets, built-ins or on shelves. THX Select Model 4200e LR Front Channel Speakers are high-performance 2-way systems intended for use with a quality subwoofer, such as the THX Select Model 642e SB. Each 4200e LR contains two proprietary 5.25″ midrange woofers, and an audiophile reference 1″ ferrofluid-cooled, damped silk dome tweeter, with a powerful neodymium magnet structure. The 4200e LR and 4200eC feature the same Room Enhanced filter set which allows the speaker to be calibrated or tuned to the environment it will be used in. The acoustical controls, and vertical arrangement of the M-T-M array, provide wide left to right coverage of sound For accurate reproduction of a multi-channel soundtrack, the three front-channel speakers must have the same sonic signature, which is why Atlantic engineers designed the 4200e C center channel speaker with the exact same driver complement as the matching 4200e LR speakers. The LR and C speakers include the same unique acoustic controls and are designed for use with a dedicated subwoofer such as the 642e SB.
The Model 4200 SR Dipole/Bipole Surround Speakers are purpose built for use in multi-channel audio/video sound systems as dedicated side or back surround channel speakers. The 4200 SR enclosure has two 4.5” woofers and two identical high performance silk dome tweeters as found in the 4200 LR front speakers. To enhance the 4200 SRs’ flexibility, the 4200 SR can be easily switched between Dipole and Bipole operation. Due to the switch-able Dipole/Bipole design, it’s possible to place the 4200 SR almost anywhere within the rear third of the room and achieve good results. However, the best location for surround speakers is generally straight out to the sides, or slightly behind the primary listening area, approximately 1-2 feet above seated ear level, but no closer than 2 feet from the ceiling.

This option replaces the Atlantic Technology 422 Subwoofer that comes with the ATLANTIC TECHNOLOGY 2200 Speaker System with an ATLANTIC TECHNOLOGY 10CSB In-Corner Subwoofer.

This option includes a 5 Speaker Input Wall Plate and Audio Grade 14 Gauge Wire, but does not include any speakers. Five Speaker Connection Plates, each with two 5-Way binding posts, are mounted at electrical outlet height, or at a location you designate, for future use. No Subwoofer connections are included. Special accommodations can be made for the future installation of wall or flush mounted speakers, optional remote subwoofer locations or other special situations. If you cannot position your subwoofer to be connected directly to your A/V amplifier, this option includes two (2) 50’ long shielded wires connected to a two (2) RCA jack wall plate, which can be incorporated with any of the Speaker Input Wall Plates described above if desired. Harmony 890 Universal Learning IR-RF Remote Control
( 04 – 058 – 890 )
Same features as (the 880) shown above, but uses “Z-Wave” RF transmissions for control without line of sight. Customer must be sure that their equipment will operate using Z-Wave RF control.

This option allows you to connect your AV electronics to a television or other video device mounted in a location which is not convenient to your electronics. This eliminates the need to have unsightly cords and cables strung across the floor or up the wall. One of the plates is mounted behind the future location of your electronic equipment, while the other one is mounted on the wall behind the future location of your
television or other video device. The 5 RCA connectors give you the ability to send stereo audio and component video signals from your equipment to the device.
Unless otherwise specified and noted on your floor plans, one end is installed at a height of 66” above the floor based on the assumption that it will be used with a plasma television, or in the ceiling within 12” of the rear of the proposed projector location, and the other end is installed at electrical outlet height near the future location of your AV electronics. You will need to contact your builder to have an AC outlet installed behind your plasma location or in the ceiling to provide power. Please consider the difficulty of “surge protecting” such a device on the wall or on the ceiling. American Home Systems strongly recommends the use of the Built In Wall Power Supply, instead of a standard electrical outlet, in order to provide the capacity for independent surge protection for such an outlet. It is the customer’s responsibility to insure that any devices that they anticipate attaching to any of the connection packages offered here are compatible with those connectors and also that additional connectors are not needed for alternate uses of their equipment.

This option is similar in nature and is installed using the same location specifications as the analog RCA Connection Package shown previously, except it consists of a digital HDMI cable instead of the five RCA component jacks. The Super-High Resolution Copper HDMI cable, up to 30’ long, is installed inside your walls and passes through the cable outlet shown to allow for direct connection between your AV equipment and your video display. Special pricing is available for cable lengths beyond 30’. HDMI cables are designed to carry both digital video signals
and digital audio signals. This connection package can be combined with the RCA Connection Package shown here in a 2-gang decora face plate to allow you to connect additional equipment to your video display. The same AC power concerns as were listed under the RCA Connection Package exist when using HDMI. American Home Systems strongly recommends the use of the In Wall Power Supply. It is the customer’s responsibility to insure that any devices that they anticipate attaching to any of the connection packages offered are compatible with those connectors and also that additional connectors are not needed for alternate uses of their equipment.
When both the RCA and the HDMI cabling options are ordered together, they are installed in a single 2-gang faceplate.

The in wall power kit is the only real solution to having your AV electronics in one area of your home, your television in another area, and still be able to connect them together and surge protect them without unsightly cables and extension cords strung across your walls and floors. A special dedicated outlet is installed near your TV or overhead projector and then connected, through the walls or ceiling, to a special heavy-duty locking AC power input plate near your AV electronics. Using the positive twist lock power cord, you can then use the same AC power for your television or projector as your AV electronics. Your television or projector and your AV electronics can then be connected to a common power filter and surge protector such as the Panamax 5100 offered here. The customer must specify the installation locations of the two receptacles; electrical outlet height for a floor standing television, 66” above the floor for a wall mounted display, or on the ceiling for an overhead projector. The input receptacle is mounted near your AV equipment.

Russound’s 858P Wall Mount Remote infrared Control System is “PLASMA FRIENDLY” and is designed to offer a window from your hand held remote to your source equipment, located in a different room or out of the line of sight. The system employs optical filtering that rejects noise from plasma displays making it an ideal choice for home theater applications. It can control up to 12 different IR based devices. This option does not include attaching emitters to other electronic equipment or programming.

This option substitutes two (2) Bose UFS-20 speaker floor stands for the UB-20 wall/ceiling brackets that come with Bose Jewel Cube Speaker arrays. Stand color (Black or White) will match color of the speakers. Speakers are not included with this option.

Articulating LCDCorner Mount

These mounts, for 13” to 20” LCD Screen Televisions, include an additional cable outlet. The cable attached to the cable outlet provided must be connected to a video source elsewhere, such as that provided by a satellite or cable company set top box, since there is usually not space for such a box close to the LCD. Mounts do not include a television.
